CASE STUDY:
Ensuring Diversity in a Large Type II Diabetes Study

See how PatientCentra ensured that the recruited patient population was representative of the overall diabetic population
Utilizing patient research and feedback, along with in-depth recruitment program planning to ensure your clinical trial gets fully enrolled on time and on budget.
When knowing what to expect with enrollment as well as when to expect it is important, we can help. For both US and global clinical trials, PatientCentra can conduct protocol-specific research (factoring in study inclusion-exclusion criteria and locations) amongst a wide array of digital media outlets and patient databases to identify where qualified patients can be efficiently sourced and at what volume and pricing.
With our study feasibility report, we provide you with a detailed prospective ‘funnel’ estimate of exposure, engagement and ultimate enrollment in your clinical trial, so you can plan appropriately to ensure critical enrollment targets and timelines are met.
Whether designing websites, patient brochures, digital or print advertisements or other creative executions, we can provide the meaningful, patient-focused, educational content needed to maximize program success. Through research and experience, we leverage a deep understanding of patients and their clinical trial journey that allows us to create engaging content which maximizes response and trust, while simultaneously meeting regulatory requirements. Need a suite of investigator site materials to maximize onsite recruitment and retention efforts? We can provide that too.

There’s no one silver bullet. A successful program requires a diverse media plan that takes into account your site locations, target patient population, and your study protocol to maximize your recruitment investment. Whether we recommend leveraging social media, our Patient Database Network™, search engines, video streaming services, online music providers or other media outlets, PatientCentra has the experience to help you accelerate your clinical trial patient enrollment.
PatientCentra can customize your recruitment campaigns to local countries through native-speaker translations, reflective imagery (e.g. ethnically-appropriate people/faces), in-country/native speaking call centers and site support, and compliance with local data privacy and advertising regulations.
Additionally, the majority of our patient outreach will be targeted to participating sites and their local regions to maximize recruitment efficiency and success.
See how PatientCentra ensured that the recruited patient population was representative of the overall diabetic population
PatientCentra was asked to provide digital recruitment support for a large, Type II Diabetes trial, leveraging a proprietary diabetes platform website and patient database. While enrolling patients was the primary goal, the secondary goal was to ensure the recruited patient population represented the overall diabetic population. One of the challenges immediately identified from the PatientCentra database would be in obtaining the 65+ age demographic and recruiting a larger non-white population.
PatientCentra used a variety of strategies and tactics in order to meet the diversity needs of the study:
IRB approved materials were created and PatientCentra utilized targeting capabilities on various digital channels to drive a high volume of patient inquiries (~400,000).
